Through the art of photography I am able to see meaning in the world and to have that meaning permanent. I love photographing Maine, particularly the coast which is one of the most spectacular places on the planet. There is mystery and surprise along with the everyday, that will never cease to deeply affect one. My work is encouraged by this principle stated by Eli Siegel, founder of the education Aesthetic Realism: "The world, art, and self explain each other, each is the aesthetic oneness of opposites.
