(Image: Watercolor by Jessica Rhys) (Warren, ME) Watercolor, known as “the medium of accident”, is a delicate and rewarding art which demands a meditative mind as it yields incredible, translucent colors and subtle textures. Classes at Chickenhouse Studios are designed to instruct and enhance the skills of beginners and beyond. We will cover the executing of washes and graded washes, color mixing and layering and brush techniques for wet and dry paint application. We will work collaboratively and individually, with time set aside each day to share our work with each other. Classes will be held in two weekend sessions, either July 14th and 15th, or August 18th and 19th. Lunch from the gardens will be provided! Chickenhouse studio is indeed a former chicken house turned studio surrounded by gardens and open fields of blueberries and flowing grasses located at Full Moon Farm in Warren, Maine just 10 minutes from Rockland and 15 minutes from Camden. Classes are $200 per student, and most supplies included. The classes are limited to small class size in order to provide quality instruction. Jessica Rhys is a published illustrator, an experienced and compassionate teacher and is a Masters Candidate in Traditional Illustration at the renowned industry school, The Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
