(Belfast, ME) Susan Tobey White of High Street Studio & Gallery located 149 High Street in Belfast, will offer a two day acrylic painting workshop at the Searsport Shores Camping Resort. This workshop is for the beginner as well as those with experience. The class will begin with an introduction to painting with acrylics with an emphasis on "Loosening Up!" For those who have taken classes with Susan, this will be a new approach of layering colors. The first day attendees will be using small surfaces. The second day students will create a large painting, at least 24x24. Having taught elementary art for 15 years, Susan has the ability to simplify and teach to beginners while her understanding of and approach to teaching colors makes her workshops appealing to more advanced students. Searsport Shores is ideal as it offers many venues to paint what is truly Maine: the rocky coast of Penobscot Bay, water scenes, water scenes, forest, gardens, buildings, and animals. There is also a studio space with a large porch which will give us a space to paint for initial instruction and if the weather does not cooperate! Lunch will be provided for both days. The cost of the workshop is $275.00 and includes two days of instruction, studio use, and some materials. If supplies (paint, brushes, palettes, sketchbooks) are needed, kits will be available for purchase at $75.00. For more info please contact Susan by calling 338-8990 or via email susan@highstreetgallery.com. |
