(Image: "I needed a place to put some things that we weren't allowed to talk about" by Lucy Mink) (Waterville, ME) “Situations”, new exhibit at Common Street Gallery on view March 9th through April 19th, showcases new and recent work by New Hampshire painter Lucy Mink. Mink works with oil on linen and was recently awarded a Pollock-Krasner grant. There will be an opening reception on Friday, March 9th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. According to art critic, curator of exhibitions and Massachusetts art gallery owner Geoffrey Young, Mink is “a colorist—she is subtle, harmonious, optically careful. As thoughtful as she is original, her works allude to landscape, interiors and geography, yet they remain primarily abstract. Though her color flows as it constructs, the composition of each picture is rock-solid.” Common Street Gallery is located at 20 Common Street in Waterville.
