(Image: "Orb" by Melissa Burgess) (Portland, ME) Heron Point Gallery welcomes Maine artist Melissa Burgess. Melissa has been interested in photography since she was a teenager and has traveled, explored, and photographed in Europe, South America, the Bahamas, and throughout the United States. In 2002, she was able to devote more time to her passion looking through the lens and recently received her Bachelor of Arts in Photography.

Through use of macro-photography, soft focus, and saturated color, she strives to capture and reveal the moment where this transformation takes place. The spirit and size of Melissa’s photographs inspire the viewer to look closely and develop an individual rapport. There will be an opening reception on Friday, October 1, 2010 (to coincide with the First Friday Art Walk from 5:00 to 8:00 pm).
