(Image: "Skater" by Sheep Jones) (Belfast, ME) New work will be featured every week at High Street Studio & Gallery by Susan Tobey White, Sheep Jones and Julie Cyr. In addition there is jewelry by Jackie Haines and Laura Pierce. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Saturdays 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sundays 11:00 am to 2:00 pm (or by appointment). The gallery is open extended hours during the Belfast Friday Gallery Walks. Come join the celebration of new work on Friday, August 6th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm with an opening reception. Susan received her BA in Art Education at Southern Connecticut State College and taught elementary art for fifteen years in Belfast area schools. Susan's love of Maine and the area is evident in her colorful landscapes and paintings of people. Her work is in private collections throughout the United States, in Canada, Europe and Australia. Sheep Jones (web) was born and grew up in Waterville, Maine, and studied art at the University of Maine in Portland. She works in oil and encaustic and has exhibited her paintings in several solo and group shows and galleries in the US and Europe. Sheep splits her time between the Washington, DC area and in Belfast, Maine. Julie Cyr (web) is a native of Waterville, Maine. She has had careers as a professional musician, singer, songwriter and registered nurse. Julie paints at her home in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and also has a studio in the coastal community of Belfast, Maine.
