(Image: "Three Hot Fudge Sundaes" by Susan Tobey White) (Belfast, ME) Come to the July opening—the gallery will make you smile! See the new work on exhibit by Susan Tobey White, Sheep Jones and Julie Cyr on Friday evening, July 6th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. The gallery will also be showing work by Gail Savitz, Blue Moon Clay Carvers, Claude ODonnell and Angus McPhail. Susan Tobey White founded High Street Gallery. She is well known for her generous and encouraging teaching style, and offers classes and workshops in the studio. Her canvases of vibrant dancers and bright colors have inspired smiles and laughter, but new colors and emotions are emerging from her most recent work.
(Image: "Garden 4" by Sheep Jones) Sheep Jones, an artist from Virginia, has been showing her work at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria and was chosen from 140 artists as Artist of the Year in 2003. Her whimsical figurative work and still life oil and encausitc paintings are a wonderful addition to the gallery.
(Image: "Drop In" by Julie Cyr) Julie Cyr, a painter from Portsmouth, NH, has had careers as a professional musician, singer, songwriter and as a registered nurse. Julie’s paintings of buildings have a very solid, strong feel to them while also having a sense of mystery. Her paintings of birds and animals can also claim the description of “whimsical.” Gallery hours are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, and Sundays by appointment or chance.
