Show opens December 5th and runs through the end of the month.

In Gallery 1, Nicole Duennebier presents "Germinal Series: New Paintings." About her work, Duennebier says that her paintings "deal with the growing mass. These masses are made of organic and man-made materials that fuse together to form grotesque bodies. Delicate fabric and cakes of mold become one and the same, neither more beautiful then the other. These rotten bodies attract the attention of animals and insects, which are eventually incorporated into the form themselves."

In Gallery 2, "Light on Earth" by painter Hilary Irons will be featured. Irons states that "the tension between images and the way they carry meaning has become increasingly important to my working process, encouraging me to experiment with form in my paintings. In my search for forms that express conflicting truths about place, nature, and physical space, my methods extend from mimesis to gesture to the clarity of shape and pattern."

In addition, in Gallery 3 a new exhibit featuring select works by Aucocisco Gallery artists will be on display.

Aucocisco Gallery is located in the heart of downtown Portland's arts district. For more information, visit the gallery's website.
