(Image: Gwen Sylvester of Rockland, Winner Best in Show for Art2011) Each artist may submit up to three works of art, which must be the artists own original work created within the last three years. Any work that has been previously exhibited at the Harlow Gallery is not eligible. Giclees and other reproductions are not eligible. Entry fees are not refundable and decisions of the jurors are final. All works entered must be original creations by the artist and must be show ready upon delivery to the Harlow Gallery. The Harlow Gallery is owned and operated by the Kennebec Valley Art Association, membership-based 501(c)3 non-profit; jurying fees help offset the cost of organizing and presenting the juried show and are not refundable. The deadline for electronic submissions is midnight on April 1, 2012. For complete entry rules and instructions on how to enter Art2012, please visit www.harlowgallery.org. The jurors will do a first review based on the digital submissions and ask artists whose work they wish to consider for the final review to deliver their work to the Harlow Gallery so that the work can be viewed in person. Any work for onsite review must be available to be delivered to the Harlow Gallery on Saturday, April 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Sunday, April 29th from noon to 4:00 pm, or Monday, April 30th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The jurors will make their final selections for the exhibition and awards by reviewing the actual work the first week of May. Cash prizes and gift certificates worth $1,500 from area business sponsors will be awarded at an awards ceremony at the exhibition's opening on Friday, May 11th at 6:00 pm. The Art2012 exhibition will be on view from May 11th to June 2nd and is free and open to the public. Jurors this year are Luc Demers and Amy Stacey Curtis.
