Proceeds Will Go to Two Non-Profit Organizations

(Waterville – February 6, 2012) Spectrum Generations Muskie Center and the Kennebec Montessori School are collaborating to bring folk legend David Mallett and his band, along with special guest Steve Fotter, to the Williamson Auditorium on Sunday, March 11th at 2:00 pm. This concert will benefit both non-profit organizations.

Mallett's music has been recorded by over 150 artists including Alison Kraus, Emmylou Harris, Kathy Mattea, John Denver and the Muppets. “David Mallett has been quoted as the best folk singer alive in America today,” says Rebecca Green, Head of he Kennebec Montessori School. “We wanted to offer something to this community that hasn’t been done in a long time.” Also, children who attend the Kennebec Montessori School will have the opportunity to sing David's famous “Garden Song” with the band on stage!.

Many community partners such as Colby College, Bangor Savings Bank, Coca-Cola, Prime Financial, Oxford Networks, Mainely Brews and Meals on Wheels, came together to make this performance happen. “We are now reaching out to community members to help raise money for these two worthy organizations by purchasing tickets and attending this performance,” says Muskie Center Director Cheryl Gifford. “Those interested in getting a signed autograph, CD or photo will be able to do so at a meet and greet social scheduled to take place directly after the performance.”

Advanced ticket prices are $18 for adults; $10 for ages 4-16; a family rate of two adults and two children is $50; and children 3 and under are free. At the door, the price will be $25 for all. Tickets can be purchased now online at www.kennebecmontessosri.org, in person at Bull Moose Music in Waterville or at Down Home Music in Fairfield. The Williamson Auditorium is located at 9 School Street in Fairfield. For additional information regarding this benefit concert, please contact Cheryl at 207-873-4745.
