On Monday, April 26th at 7:00 pm.(Augusta, ME) The University of Maine at Augusta's Student Government Association (SGA) has announced that tickets are now on sale for the Dr. Maya Angelou event which takes place at the Augusta Civic Center. (Image: Courtesy of the University of Maine at Augusta Website) Hailed as one of the great voices of contemporary literature, the poet, best-selling author, actress, playwright, civil-rights activist, producer and director will be making a rare speaking appearance in Maine. Dr. Angelou last spoke in Maine fifteen years ago in Orono. The event is open to the public at a cost of $25 per ticket. Purchasing tickets early is encouraged, as the event is expected to sell out.
