(Image: "Giraffe" by Selma Swartz Bromberg) (Raymond, ME) Hole In The Wall Studioworks is pleased to be exhibiting the work of Suzanne Hodes and Selma Swartz Bromberg, two artists from Massachusetts who have a connection and an artistic pull to Maine. The exhibit will continue through May 23rd.
(Image: "Light Over Sebago Lake" by Suzanne Hode) Suzanne Hodes (web) is an expressionist painter whose recurrent themes are cityscapes and waterscapes. Her unmistakable brushwork and gestures are filled with enthusiasm and life. Hodes has a fascination with reflections - "Not in windows, but looking deep into water. There's a meditative quality when looking into water," Hodes says. Her paintings in this exhibit are her impressions of Sebago Lake, where she spends part of each summer. Selma Swartz Bromberg (web) is a fine artist and printmaker. She is a member of the Experimental Etching Studio of Boston, the Monotype Guild of New England, and the DeCordova Museum Loan Program. Bromberg is inspired by the rugged beauty and fragility of nature. Her woodcuts reveal a strong interest in textures and patterns in nature. This exhibit shows her present interest in landscapes and a few works from her earlier animal series. Hole In The Wall Studioworks hours are Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm, and Sunday from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm. The gallery is located on Route 302 in Raymond.
