Deadline for Submissions: Extended to December 31, 2011.Maine Art Scene magazine is organizing its much anticipated third annual multi-disciplinary virtual showcase of contemporary Maine painters, fine art printmakers, fine art photographers, sculptors, potters (new!), furniture makers (new!), mixed-media, multimedia artists. This statewide interactive showcase will be available online at www.maineartscene.com and maine-art-exhibits.com in February 2012. Artwork will be selected by Suzette McAvoy (former curator of the Farnsworth Museum and current director at CMCA), Sam Mitchell, a passionate collector of Maine art who was recently featured in Maine Home + Design (read article), as well as Maine Art Scene's founders, Brenda and Thierry Bonneville. Works chosen will be displayed in a virtual format that resembles an actual gallery space, with various rooms to navigate, and artwork and labels to zoom in on. Exciting new virtual spaces will be created for our 2012 showcase. > View our 2010 and 2011 virtual exhibits which have been seen by thousands of online visitors and continue to receive enthusiastic feedback. The virtual showcase has been used by gallery owners and publishers to find Maine artists for shows and feature articles as well as collectors.

Selected artists will have links to their website and/or to the art galleries representing them. This year we will also be adding links to artists' social networking pages such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Deadline for submissions: Thursday, December 15, 2011 by 5:00 pm. Open to: All professional fine art printmakers, fine art photographers, sculptors and mixed-media and multimedia artists who are part-time or full-time Maine residents. Fine art galleries may also make submissions on behalf of their artists.
