Featuring Over Artists and Close to 80 Works of Art> VIEW THE VIRTUAL ART EXHIBIT(Belfast, ME) March 3, 2012 – Maine Art Scene is pleased to announce the launch of its third annual online artist showcase. 85 artists submitted a combined total of over 400 pieces of art. Founders Brenda and Thierry Bonneville as well as curator Suzette McAvoy and Maine art collector Sam Mitchell selected 74 artists represented by almost 80 works of art. The pieces are featured in brand new and even more realistic virtual exhibit spaces. As with the previous showcases, the selected works will become part of Maine Art Scene's permanent virtual art library. "With both Suzette's discerning eye and Sam's enthusiasm for Maine art, I think our third annual event might be our best ever." Maine Art Scene, LLC (maineartscene.com), is Maine's online arts and culture magazine devoted to promoting Maine artists and arts organizations in new and enterprising ways. In 2012, Maine Art Scene will open a multi-vendor platform to allow Maine artists and private collectors of Maine art to create online stores and sell their work. Arts organizations including galleries, museums, and non-profits will also be able to set up online gifts shops, box offices and donation pages. Maine Art Scene would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the many wonderful artists who submitted their work for consideration.
