The Show Runs February 1st through February 28th.(Portland, ME) Diane Bowie Zaitlin will be part of Some Like it Hot!, a group show of artists using heat in the creative process at Toby Rosenberg Pottery in Portland. (Image: "Journal" by Diane Bowie Zaitlin) Diane's encaustic paintings reveal her fascination with the power of color, sensuality of surface, and use of a veiled narrative. She is especially attracted to the luminosity, depth, and fluidity of encaustic that allows a natural combination of painting and collage. Diane has shown her work extensively and has been included in various group shows in New York, Massachusetts, Oregon, Iowa, and Connecticut and throughout Maine including exhibits at the Saco Museum, Leighton Gallery, Elan Fine Arts, Greenhut Galleries and the George Marshall Store Gallery. The Some Like it Hot! featured artists are: In addition, there will be two special events at Toby Rosenberg Pottery on Sunday, February 7th. From 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, there will be a trunk show of Susan Bryant Caron handcrafted silver jewelry, and from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, visitors will be able to taste delicious hand made chocolates by Sweet Marguerites.
