Opening August 11th(Ogunquit, ME) Welcome to the world of Kevin Van Aelst. In this world Van Aelst has taken the banal details of the everyday and has transformed them into fantastical still lifes through the physical manipulation of the common objects. He seamlessly combines humor and wit with subtle fantasy to create the visual incarnation of a daydreamer’s imagination. Van Aelst holds a B.A. in psychology from Cornell University and a M.F.A. from the University of Hartford. His work as been featured in the New York Times, Men’s Health, and Time. There will be an opening reception pn Saturday, August 11th from 2:00 to 6:00 pm and the work will be exhibited through August 30th. Both a gallery and unique piece of architecture, StoneCrop has been a home to artists for much of the past century. Past exhibitions have included work by artists such as Henry Horenstein, Jim Dow, Yoav Horesh, Barbara Bosworth, Stephen Sheffield, Karin Rosenthal, Nancy Marshall and more.
