Featuring Inspiring Works by Inspired Artists.(Portland & Belfast, ME) Heather Frederick, Director of VoxPhotographs of Portland and Belfast, Maine announces the work of over thirty fine art photographers is now showcased in the web gallery at www.voxphotographs.com and available for viewing in person by appointment. "Now in its fourth year, VoxPhotographs is expanding dramatically," Frederick states. "For the past three years I've fostered exclusive relationships with a dozen artists, working with them to build careers, genuine bodies of work and national recognition. I've also become deeply committed to growing the collector base for the fine art photography community in Maine and the expanded gallery is a direct result of that growing commitment." But she is frustrated by what she sees as a huge disconnect between the impressive attendance and enjoyment by the public at such exhibits and the understanding that fine art photographs can be a significant part of a personal art collection.
(Flower #5 © Joe Muir. All Rights Reserved.) "Fine art photographers can't live on exhibitions and recognition. Sales have to follow. Maine has a fine art photography community to die for - real world-class talent, curators who constantly honor the medium, Maine Media Workshops which draws photography students from all over the globe, and a very high attendance by the public at photography exhibits. Why, then, do sales of fine art photographs to individual collectors not measure up?"

(Filling Station © David Wade. All Rights Reserved.) Sales to corporations through design professionals who see the possibilities of price point and the myriad materials photographs can now be presented on as highly appealing when advising clients on art budgets, have been a mainstay at VoxPhotographs, and Frederick knows the hugely expanded offering of genres, styles and price levels now available at the gallery will be very welcome in designer circles. "Onward and upward. My photographers have been hearing me say that constantly since I founded VoxPhotographs. And 2011 is no exception. It's full steam ahead."
