Fall art classes for adults and children at Waterfall Arts begin the week of October 5 and run through the first week in December. The after school and evening classes are complemented by a new lineup of one day workshops scheduled for Saturdays in late October and November. Adult evening classes include Word/Art with Paul Oberst on Tuesdays; an exciting course in transferring printable words to any surface which may result in a room full of words or a sculpture incorporating personal imagery and text. Also on Tuesdays, Peter Baldwin will lead a free three week brainstorming session to come up with 350 ways to create a sustainable, thriving local economy. The goal is to have a compilation of these ideas ready for the 350 International Day of Climate Action on Saturday, October 24. Adele Drake will give instruction in the basics of painting and the integration of personal vision on Wednesdays in Painting: the Life of Objects. On Thursdays, Danny Piper will help students make functional ceramics in Introduction to Wheel Throwing and Stevan Hall will lead Drawing and the Human Figure for all ability levels on Thursdays, Long Pose Saturday Figure Sessions, a non instructional drawing group for intermediate to advanced levels, starts again on Saturday October 10 from 9:30 to 12 noon. After school classes for kids are on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:30 to 5:30. Linda Stec returns to lead The Wonders of Clay for kids of all ages on Tuesdays, Ned Lightner will give instruction and encouragement to teens in producing videos in The Very Short Movie Workshop on Wednesdays and Drawing, Painting, Printing and Collage will be the focus for 7 to 12 year olds in the Thursday afternoon class. The new lineup of Saturday workshops include Shake Up Your Art: Discovering New Levels of Creativity with Marcie Bronstein on October 24 from 9:30 to 12:30. Let go of your inhibitions and discover deep wells of creativity! Open to all levels, from aspiring artists to professionals. Waterfall Arts is located at 256 High Street in Belfast. All classes require registration and full payment before the start of the first class.
