Spring art classes for adults and children at Waterfall Arts begin the week of April 27th and run through the first week of June. On Tuesday afternoons from 3:30 to 5:30 pm, Lesia Sochor will lead a painting class for 8 to 12 year olds focusing on the colors, textures, patterns and images of spring. Linda Stec will coach 6 to 12 year olds in the mysteries and techniques of clay pottery on Thursday afternoons during the same time slot. Adult evening classes include visual journaling with Abbie Read on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. The group will craft their own journals and add layers of sketches, ideas, collage and other materials to serve as a storehouse of artistic energy. Stevan Hall will give students a new take on drawing the Human Figure through exercises designed to sharpen observational skills and drawing fluidity. Lesia Sochor will teach watercolor, oil sticks and pastels in a special three session course focusing on the spring palette on Tuesday evenings. Paul Jurutka will show students how to make great looking rustic trellises in a one day workshop on Saturday, June 13th. All classes require registration and full payment before the start of the first class. Waterfall Arts has made an effort to keep the price of these courses low with the idea that if more people are inspired by art, the community as a whole is enriched in these difficult times. There are a limited number of partial scholarships available for those in need. To request a printed brochure, to register for classes, request a scholarship application, to volunteer or to be added to the mailing list, call Waterfall Arts at 338-2222.
