On Friday, December 18th at 7:00 pm (Brunswick, ME) Exhilaration, intensity, velocity, celebration: There's Gypsy jazz, and then there's Ameranouche, a power trio that churns up a blazing acoustic whirlwind. Audiences delight when Ameranouche sneaks in a French waltz or a haunting Russian folk song, and then cranks up the heat for Flamenco rhythms. Often billed as a Gypsy jazz act, they use the term only as a springboard for exploration. The award winning Ameranouche trio features the solo guitar work of Richard Sheppard, rhythm guitarist Ryan Flaherty, and upright bassist, Xar Adelberg. Together, they cultivate a vigorous energy that is neatly packaged in a familiar texture. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Advanced ticket purchase is recommended.
