Meredith Alex, aka “madgirl”, teams up with local band Marion Grace to fuse together a CD release “experience”, coupled with a rockin’ green men’s fashion show entitled “Marion Grace Unleashes the MADness”. (Portland, ME) The musicians from Portland-based band Marion Grace have teamed up with local eco-fashion designer Meredith Alex, aka “madgirl”, for an unbelievable CD release event and fashion show called “Marion Grace Unleashes the MADness!” On Saturday, March 20th at 8:00 pm, the Port City Music Hall will be transformed into part Bryant Park during fashion week and part rock concert mecca as Marion Grace release their debut record “Lying Down, Looking Up”. “Madgirl” will kick off the evening with an energetic runway show promoting her latest streetwear fashions for men. Also performing will be Maine music’s most popular funk/soul band Sly Chi and the current buzz of Boston, acoustic-rock band The Adam Ezra Group. “This is going to be an amazingly mad show,” said Meredith Alex, President of madgirl world. “I am so lucky to be working with such a talented group of musicians who are going to take this CD release party to whole new level of creativity by bringing my funky fashions and their superb sound together on stage.” Meredith’s streetwear is part of her super “G” (super green sustainability) line of clothing that has an edgy, cosmopolitan appeal with a message of sustainability. “We wanted to celebrate the release of our debut record, by creating a new and amazing experience for art lovers of our great city of Portland,” said Ralph Marion, lead singer of Marion Grace. “It has been a little over a year from the day that our band woke up and decided we wanted something real, something greater then us. It was that day we decided, I would sing more like I talk, Aaron would forget the metronome for a while, Clara would open her eyes while she sang, and Josh would start to transition from hired gun to family. It has made all of the difference” Marion Grace has been hard at work in the local music scene for several years and now has created the band’s first full length release, “Lying Down, Looking Up” produced by local music super-talent Adam Frederick. This highly-anticipated debut record weaves deep through varied intense emotions and experiences, all the while maintaining their soulful, alternative folk rock sound. Keeping along with the concert “experience”, the band will be joined on-stage with many well-known local musician-friends, as MG incorporates horns, strings, a full-on choral section, along with a few other surprises in the works. “Marion Grace Unleashes the MADness ” begins at 8:00 pm on Saturday, March 20th at Port City Music Hall located at 504 Congress Street in Portland, Maine. Tickets are $10 in advance and $13 day of show. Tickets will be on sale at all Bull Moose Music locations and at the PCMH Box Office.
