(Belfast, ME) Don’t miss the downtown fun! Come to town from 5:00 to 8:00 pm to visit the 19 participating galleries and studios, listen and watch musicians, dancers and performers in the streets, and experience the wonderfully unique and diverse art the town has to offer. Many locations will be hosting openings and receptions. The participating galleries and studios are: Waterfall Arts, Off the Beaten Path Gallery, Daniel Anselmi at 75 Main Street Studio, First Light Gallery, High Street Studio and Gallery, Roots & Tendrils, Brambles, Art Alliance Gallery, Aarhus Gallery, Beyond the Sea, Belfast Co-op Café Gallery, Image Box Photos, The Working Art Gallery, Parent Gallery, Ben Hall at 960 Studio, Galerie Dufour, Betts Gallery at the Belfast Framer, Dina Petrillo at The Post Office Studio Workshop, Susan Cooney Fine Art Studio, and Maine Farmland Trust. There will be live performances on the streets and around town adding a lively and festive atmosphere to Belfast's Downtown. Performers for the 9th will include The Belfast Bay Fiddlers, dancer Jenny Carr, and poet Dave Morrison accompanied by drummer Jeffery Densmore. The Belfast Bay Fiddlers are talented musicians devoted to playing and sharing traditional fiddle music, mostly from the New England contra dance tradition. Their instrumentation ranges from fiddles, mandolins, recorders and whistles to guitars, banjos, accordion and percussion, and they play for dances and concerts throughout Mid-coast Maine. The lively music of these community-minded musicians is guaranteed to get your toes tapping! The 2010 Art Walk Map can be found in many locations around town or by visiting www.artsbelfast.com. Belfast Art Walks are on the first Friday of each month from June to December and every Friday night in July and August. The Belfast Art Walks are made possible by the generous support of Bangor Savings Bank and Bluestreak. |
