(Rockport, ME) The Toughcats will rule the dance floor at a March 13th Tropical Dance Party at the Rockport Opera House to benefit Partners in Health, a nonprofit organization that’s been working in Haiti for over 20 years. Three talented musicians hailing from North Haven, the Toughcats have just released their second album, Run to the Mill.

The band tours nationally, but nowhere are their fans more devoted than right here in the midcoast, and organizers say this event is likely to sell out. The fun and energetic trio play their own blend of old timey bluegrass, thoughtful indie rock, and classic pop, bringing their audience a timeless music that is unquestionably danceable.

Lincolnville resident Shannon Thompson planned the event to celebrate her March 12th birthday in a meaningful way. Her goal, she said, is “to gather friends and other fun-seekers together for a rollicking good time while making a significant contribution to disaster relief efforts in Haiti.”

The event begins at 7:30 pm and tropical dress is encouraged. Tickets are a $20 minimum donation and only 200 tickets will be available, so buy yours early. You may purchase tickets online at www.tropicaltoughcats.com, at HAV II in Camden or at Rock City Books and Coffee in Rockland. For more information, please visit www.tropicaltoughcats.com or contact Shannon Thompson by phone at 975-2992 or via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
