(Gardiner, ME) On Sunday, December 4th at 4:00 pm. This women’s a cappella ensemble from California performs a holiday and winter seasonal show: “A Winter Gust of Song.” On an East Coast tour, enchanting vocal trio moira smiley & VOCO (Emily Eagen and April Guthrie), sing gorgeous a cappella harmonies; play cello, banjo, accordion, ukulele, and body percussion; and stomp the stage with pure joy. They beautifully warp old American shape-notes, sizzling hambone, and strains of Eastern Europe with an avant-garde, experimental spirit, lush originals and warm wit. This is the all-new winter program, a lovely collection of American folk songs of winter, stars, evergreens and parallel celebration songs from Eastern Europe.
