I've been meaning to write to you, first of all to commend you on the fine work and service that you are doing with 'Maine Art Scene'.

I work all over the world, and I do think that what you are creating is simply the best, and most interesting on-line regional arts magazines.

I have been amazed and grateful for the dozens of inquiries that I continue to receive as a result of your interview with me!

Best-
Henry

MAINE ART SCENE    15 November 2009 20:48
Hello Everyone,

It's been a very busy couple of weeks at Maine Art Scene. The first statewide multi-disciplinary virtual showcase will go live this Friday (Nov. 20th).

Originally scheduled for November 15th, we are postponing the virtual opening by just a few days to migrate servers.

This should accommodate the significant amount of traffic anticipated by the launch of the virtual showcase.

We'll be posting a link later this week!

Thank you.

Make sure to check out this small art gallery on Main Street in Belfast called Aarhus.

Here are few good reasons to visit:

#1 - Aarhus has many shows every year, so you won't see the same work on the walls every time you visit the gallery.

#2 - There is a strong and unique sense of collaboration between the local artists and the gallery. Often, artists are invited to create new pieces for different shows. Established artists will try working in a new medium just for fun.

#3 - There is art for everyone. While there are always a few pricier works of art from local masters, there are also plenty of pieces of affordable art. There are a lot of red dot stickers by the end of each show, so don't wait.

You can visit their website at: www.aarhusgallery.com
Located at 50 Main Street in Belfast, twenty minutes north of Camden.

John    01 April 2009 14:38
I'm quite impressed by your statewide online music showcase. I don't think there has been anything quite like this online or on the air.

I'm familiar with many names but discovered some great new ones. I'm curious to see who else will apply. Other performers I know should be on it. I'll tell them.

Kudos for mastering the online world!

Hello,

I would like to make some comments about your first NON-JURIED statewide online exhibit of contemporary fine art photographers.

Thank you for providing this great opportunity to Maine fine art photographers. It is a nice showcase for displaying some of the breadth and depth of contemporary photography in the state. It definitely has the makings of a virtual maine photography gallery/museum!

I can't wait for the second NON-JURIED statewide online exhibit of contemporary fine art photographers! How does a photographer get involved with this project?

Thanks,

Chuck M.

Glad to hear it Lily. You deserve it.

Quick update for everyone: Since the online opening just 24 hours ago, close to 400 unique visitors (650 visits total) have viewed the statewide fine art photography show. This compares to a succesful gallery opening night.

We've also received several emails from other Maine fine art photographers wishing they had submitted work for this year's event. Needless to say, we are very pleased with the positive feedback.

Now that the exhibit is online, we'll be focusing on getting additional out-of-state coverage. If you have any personal media contacts, please let us at: media@maineartscene.com. We'll gladly contact them. Thank you.
