Happy holidays to all of you at maineartscene.com. I wanted to thank you for promoting Maine artists and arts organizations, especially during these difficult economic times.

Mary Grace    07 December 2008 21:47
I also wanted to post information about another wonderful Maine Artist. She mainly does New England landscape watercolors. You can see her artwork in person by visiting the Sea Rose Gallery at 325 Long Beach Ave in York Beach, Maine.

David,
The Maine Art Scene had a call for Fine Art Photography submissions open to any Maine artist complete with guidelines. It is my understanding that many more exhibits are on the horizon in all the arts so keep watching and when you see your opportunity, go for it!!! These folks are just awesome!!!!

David Bates    22 October 2008 13:08
I love the exhibit and am thrilled with all of the great photographic vision and talent found in our state. I was curious as to how one might go about entering an upcoming exhibit or show. This looks like an excellent collection of artists whom I'd love to be a part of in the future.

What a wonderful show ! I'm amazed at the talent out "there", and I'm very grateful for the opportunity to be part of it ! Special thanks to my sister, Constance Pavliska, for coaxing me to participate.

Lily P.    16 October 2008 11:00
I've already heard from someone interested in displaying my work! It's very inspiring. Thank you!!
Reply from Maine Art Scene Reply from Maine Art Scene:
Glad to hear it Lily. You deserve it.

Quick update for everyone: Since the online opening just 24 hours ago, close to 400 unique visitors (650 visits total) have viewed the statewide fine art photography show. This compares to a succesful gallery opening night.

We've also received several emails from other Maine fine art photographers wishing they had submitted work for this year's event. Needless to say, we are very pleased with the positive feedback.

Now that the exhibit is online, we'll be focusing on getting additional out-of-state coverage. If you have any personal media contacts, please let us at: media@maineartscene.com. We'll gladly contact them. Thank you.

Matt    15 October 2008 15:50
Thank you for helping Maine artists promote their work. I enjoyed your online photography exhibit very much. We look forward to hearing about your other online events.

Bob. R.    15 October 2008 12:21
The photography show looks fantastic! I think it's an interesting idea to mix young and mature artists. I think it's says a lot about what Fine Art Photography means for various people. Thank you for the unique perspective. Bob.

Constance Pavliska    15 October 2008 07:59
I just viewed the New Online Photography Exhibit and it is just spectacular! What a great job by you; Maine Art Scene, CellarDoor Vineyards as sponsor and all the Artists! It is great to be a part of such an exciting event. I found so many new artists to put on my 'to inquire' list that I might never have found but for the this Exhibit. Thank you!

Constance Pavliska    11 October 2008 05:48
Thank you Maine Art Scene for bringing such a great forum to Maine. I found My College Professor and Mentor Michael Lewis' Painting Exhibit listed here and thought that I would take this opportunity to also thank him publicly for putting so much of himself in his teachings and for caring. This UMaine Grad is honored to have been taught by such a phenomenal Painter and fine Educator.

Richard D.    14 September 2008 11:51
This is my second posting. Just thought I would share the following art news with all of you. I received the Bay Chamber Concerts' flyer in the mail. They are really trying to make concerts affordable and for this upcoming season most tickets are just $20!

Maine Art Scene is holding the 1st NON-JURIED statewide online exhibit of Maine Fine Art Photographers on October 15th.

NOTE: The Boothbay Region Art Foundation actually began developing the very 1st statewide JURIED Maine Photography Show online in November 2007. The 1st statewide Online Photography Show "My Favorite Maine" can be viewed at www.mainephotographyshow.com

Sue    11 August 2008 10:47
I've spent many summers near Rockland and visited the Farnsworth Museum for the very first time last week! I spent about three hours touring the various buildings and loved the various exhibits. A must see in the area.

Beth H.    23 July 2008 15:16
I'm particularly fond of your Maine Artist Profile Series (interviews and accompanying slide shows). I enjoyed learning more about the last two artists you selected. I would love to see other types of work as well. Perhaps a series on Maine photographers? Nice website. Beth.

Nathan G.    10 July 2008 11:25

Great website! I would like to let you know about a very interesting and somewhat new museum in Portland called The Museum of African Culture. The website is www.africantribalartmuseum.org. The only New England Museum devoted to African Arts and Culture. 1,500 pieces in the collection. Thank you.

I just found your website on the Internet. This is a very interesting online art magazine. I love the short news and the artist profiles. The site looks beautiful. I'll check your site often for Maine art news.
Reply from Maine Art Scene Reply from Maine Art Scene:
Thank you for your kind words Pat. We believe the Internet audience, for the most part, scans web pages and only occasionally reads full-length articles. This is why we ask Maine artists and arts organizations to submit short condensed press releases and a link for more details. Thank you! - Maine Art Scene.

George C.    20 May 2008 15:41
What a fine publication! I love the fact that you are the only publication I've seen attempting to consolidate art news from all over Maine. By doing so, you are truly giving our art community a stronger national presence. Thank you.
Reply from Maine Art Scene Reply from Maine Art Scene:
Thank you George. That's the idea - Maine isn't New York, L.A. or Chicago but when events are combined together in one place as we're doing it here, Maine definitely has quite an art scene. Thank you - Maine Art Scene.

Deborah P.    08 April 2008 16:25
Dear Editor,

I can't begin to tell you how thrilled I am to finally see an (online) publication covering the Maine art scene. Kudos to you!

Thank you Deborah for being the first one to comment on our new artTalk section. We look forward to many more comments and suggestions. This is only the beginning! - Maine Art Scene.
