Event title Art Teachers: Teach Class at Common Street Arts
Where: Common Street Arts - Waterville
Category: Art Classes

Event description:

(Waterville, ME) Are you interested in teaching a class or workshop at Common Street Arts? CSA invites artists with a passion for teaching or teachers with a passion for art to submit class proposals. Our staff reviews all proposals to see if and how each best fits into our curriculum, space and schedule. Critical characteristics of Common Street Arts’ arts instructors include a joyous attitude and high aptitude for providing students with a positive art experience. If a class or workshop runs successfully, you will not need to re-submit in order to repeat it at a later date. Proposals will be taken June through September 2012.

About Common Street Arts
Common Street Arts (CSA) will open in July as a new non-profit art space located in the heart of historic Waterville, Maine. As a project of the Waterville Arts Collaborative, CSA merges the missions and talents of the previous Common Street Gallery and Freshwater Arts while also connecting with various other area arts and cultural organizations to create a space dedicated to art education and exhibition. CSA’s Studio space is designed to host a diverse schedule of classes and workshops encompassing many mediums and all skill levels. We strive to provide a balanced art curriculum that covers basic skills yet also provides opportunities to explore new, alternative methods and materials. Meanwhile, the Gallery space right next-door will host a diverse schedule of visual art exhibitions and multi-media events to bring more and different are to the Waterville community.

Programming Coordinator, Kate Barnes, and the CSA Education Committee will review all proposals to decide if and how they best fit into the space and schedule. For an application form, please click here.

The CSA’s Studio is located at 16 Common Street in the previous location of Common Street Gallery. For more information, please send an email to Kate.Barnacle@gmail.com or Emilie.M.Knight@gmail.com.
