On Saturday, October 20th, Sandi Cirillo will lead a hands workshop in Shibori, the Japanese resist method of creating designs on silk. Cirillo, an experienced instructor states that “I find the fiber arts to be compelling and completely absorbing. For me, it is the visual exploration of ideas and obsessions using color and shape.”

Potter Bill Davis will teach an eight week pottery class for adults and those over the age of 15 beginning Thursday, October 18th from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Davis’ pottery is easily recognized for its unique shapes and fluid decoration. In this class, he’ll focus on wheel work, slab building and hand building. He believes that the first item to learn to throw on the pottery wheel is a basic cylinder and everything comes from this shape and this skill. Each person has their own unique touch and the clay's response is a great way to find it. All skill levels are welcome.

Waterfall Arts is located at 256 High Street in Belfast. Partial scholarships are available through the generous support of United Mid Coast Charities. For more information on the workshops and classes, costs, registration, scholarships, exhibits or rentals please visit waterfallarts.org, call 338-2222 or stop by the gallery or office.
