ARLA PATCH (Bryant Pond, ME)
Events in my life have been the inspiration for my artwork. I have been shooting photos since I was eleven but got serious about 26 years ago when my son was born and I needed a way to make images that was portable.
Creative expression has been a source of transformation and healing for me. This aspect of creativity is what interests me most, both as an art-maker and a teaching artist. Much of my artwork is shared through workshops and presentations as well as exhibits.
These three images come from my first book, “A Body Story.” These images were made in real time by projecting slides onto the figure and then re-photographing that projected image. These were not made through Photoshop.
