REBEKAH YOUNGER (Woolwich, ME)

My work is about capturing moments of clear seeing. There is magic in the phenomenal world and a certain sacredness which can be accessed any time we open our senses and experience the world anew, unfiltered by our thoughts about what we are seeing. To wake up to the world as it is feeds my soul. In the speed of our daily lives these images are intended to encourage the viewer to slow down and contemplate the wonder of our world.

I have been a fine artist for over 30 years incorporating photography to varying degrees in an interdisciplinary practice. My work is currently represented by Addison-Woolley Gallery - Center for Photographic Inquiry in Portland, ME with an exhibit scheduled for Oct. 2008.
