(Portland, ME) Southern Maine artist Nancy Kureth‘s Vignettes, a performance/play based on a series of her original short stories, premieres next month at Mechanics’ Hall in Portland, Maine.

The Evolution of Vignettes

Recently, Kureth had to pack up her art studio, prompting her to go back to her first love, writing. Kureth said, “One of the most uncomfortable things an artist can do is pack up their existing studio for an indefinite period of time. It was awful at first, but creativity is a state of being, not a product.”

Kureth describes the play as “Just as it’s titled, it includes moments. It’s funny, dramatic, it’s capturing the sacred in the mundane.”

In addition to the play, over 100 of the artist’s paintings will be on display.

Performance Schedule

This much anticipated 90 minute play will be performed at Mechanics’ Hall, located at 519 Congress Street in Portland on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 7:00 pm and again on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 7:00 pm.
