(Bar Mills, ME) At the Saco River Theatre from widely acclaimed Maine lesbian feminist playwright Carolyn Gage comes The Second Coming of Joan of Arc, Gage’s explosive feminist classic is about teenage runaway and lesbian Joan of Arc. The play has Joan returning from the dead to share her harrowing experiences and passionate, radical perspective with contemporary audiences. Boston actor Julia Reddy will bring Gage’s Joan to life on Saturday, May 13 at 7:00 pm.

This Play is “Girl Power Epic”

A performance that has been called a “girl power epic”, some of the most famous activists and feminist writers in the world have endorsed this play, including Andrea Dworkin, Phyllis Chesler, Jewelle Gomez, and John Stoltenberg. It has been featured at international festivals, taught widely in Gender and Women’s Studies departments, and toured with great success for twenty-two years. It is the title work of an anthology that won the Lambda Literary Award in Drama.
