(Belfast, ME) Christina Baker Kline, The New York Times bestselling author, will be at Left Bank Books in Belfast on Sunday, August 23 at 11:00 am, for a socially safe outdoor signing to celebrate the release of The Exiles, her brand new historical novel set in England and Australia. That evening, she and equally acclaimed writer Lily King (Writers & Lovers, Euphoria) will hold an online conversation about their work—an event that is available exclusively to those who have bought a copy of The Exiles from Left Bank Books.

In this gorgeous novel, which has already been optioned for a television series by the producer of “Big Little Lies,” Baker Kline brilliantly recreates the beginnings of a new society in a beautiful and challenging land, telling the story of Australia through the experiences of three women. While life there is punishing and often brutally unfair, it is also, for some, an opportunity for redemption, a new way of life, and unimagined freedom. Told in exquisite detail and incisive prose, The Exiles is a story of grace born from hardship, the unbreakable bonds of female friendships, and the unfettering of legacy.
