(Bath, ME) Classically trained artist Tina Ingraham is offering three days of outdoor painting in the picturesque seaside town of Stonington. Ingraham’s study of Renaissance portrait, fresco and landscape painting is evident in her warm palette, fascination with surface and vivid perception of nature. Her paintings and portrait commissions are collected internationally in both private and corporate collections.

Each day students will meet Tina at the “Shed” which is across from the Village Opera House and within walking distance of the village galleries, inns and shops. The En Plein-Air Painting With The Mindful Painter© workshop will begin on September 8 at 1:00 pm and run for two subsequent days, September 9 and 10, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Topics of Learning

Ingraham will cover a wide range of topics and provide invaluable information to students including:

• The Alla Prima Process: An evolution of gauging time, light, passion and recognizing resolution.
• Staying in the Moment: Building a dialogue with your painting.
• Aerial Perspective: Depicting three spatial dimensions on your canvas.
• Perceiving Green in Landscape: Translating the nuances of green into paint.
• The Cast Shadow: Its descriptive role.
• Mixing Paint: Paint organization and paint viscosity.
• Surface and Paint Application

Details on Workshop + Lodging

The cost is $400.00 for the workshop, and all levels of experienced painters are welcome. The class is limited to ten students and has a required minimum of six.

Students will be responsible for finding their own accommodation during the workshop. Suggestions are Pres du Port B & B, Boyce’s Motel and the Inn at the Harbor.

Meeting at the “Shed” in Stonington allows for plenty of parking, picnic table for snacks, lunch, personal facilities, and a beautiful spot to work, in the event of inclement weather.

Tina will then provide the preliminary registered attendees with information on the required deposit as well as a list of supplies and any other further details.
